A few words about Ammouliani island
Ammoulianiis an island in the bay of Mount Athos, right opposite of Tripiti village.
It is the only inhabited island in Halkidiki. It covers an area of about 4.5 square kilometers. Ammouliani island is 120 kilometers away from Thessalonikicity.
In the past Ammouliani was part of Vatopedi Monastery. Since 1925 settled Greek refugees from Asia Minor.
Today Ammoulaini is part of Aristotle’s municipality and has five hundred permanent residents, engaged in fishing and tourism.
Apart from the old church, the old shipyard is a worthwhile sightseeing which is a typical example of Byzantine architecture.
There is a kindergarten and a primary school on the island, while there is a pharmacy, a supermarket, a butcher shop, etc.
Every year in April, Saint George is honored.

The island is connected by ferry from the coast of Tripiti village, which are only 2 nautical miles apart.
The island is dominated by greenery, as it is overgrown with olive trees and low vegetation.
Ammouliani has many magical sandy beaches (Alykes, Agios Georgios, Megalh Ammos, Karagatsia etc.). Drenia are small uninhabitable islands opposite Megalh Ammos beach. It is a wonderful idea for someone to visit the by renting a boat.
